Unblank keeps what it needs to schedule your cards and sync them between your devices. Here is all of it.
What we store
- Your account. The name and email Apple or Google shares when you sign in, and the id they give us for you. Sign-in sessions are stored only as a hash.
- Your reviews. For each card you study: which button you pressed, when, how long it took, your bet if you made one, and the AI's verdict if you typed. Also each card's schedule, your settings and the classes you added.
- Your edits. Cards you rewrote in your own words.
- Your personal cards. The cards you kept from notes to cards. Nobody else sees them, and they are never used for the shared decks.
- Exam dates. Dates you set for yourself, and your votes on midterm dates. Classmates see only the vote counts.
- Reports. Cards you reported as wrong, and any note you added.
- Duel answers. The button you pressed on each duel card, and your typed answer if you typed one. The friend you duel sees your display name and your results once the duel is done.
- "I was right." When you overrule a grade, we keep your answer and the verdict so we can check the card.
- A daily count of AI requests, so we can keep the daily limits.
- Waitlist emails. If you join a waitlist on a course page, the email and the class. This isn't tied to an account.
Apart from "I was right" and duels, we don't keep the answers you type.
What goes to OpenRouter and Anthropic
AI grading, explanations and notes to cards run on Claude, a model made by Anthropic, which we reach through OpenRouter, a service that passes requests on to AI models. When you type an answer, explain an idea, or ask why you missed a card, the card and what you wrote go through OpenRouter to Anthropic's model to be graded. When you paste notes to make cards, the notes go the same way. We don't store your notes; only the cards you choose to keep are saved.
What we don't do
- No ads.
- We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.
- No analytics or tracking tools, in the app, the web app or on these pages.
One outside request to know about: these pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address when a page loads.
Deleting your account
In the app or on the web, go to You, then Account, then Delete account. That deletes your account and everything listed above that belongs to it, straight away. A card already pulled from a deck after reports stays out until it's fixed.
