Flash cards for big intro classes

Remember it on exam day.

Unblank has a free deck for each big gateway class at UCLA, laid out week by week. It brings each card back just before you'd forget it, and checks you again before the exam.

Pick your class

Each deck follows the syllabus, one week at a time. Open one to read its first 20 cards.

How it works

You choose how long to study each day, from 5 to 20 minutes, and that time goes to the cards you're closest to forgetting.

Four buttons

After each card, tap Forgot, Barely, Got it or Easy. Each button shows when the card will come back: Forgot brings it back in ten minutes, and Easy sends it away for a while.

The exam check

Add your exam dates. If a card would start to fade before the exam, Unblank gives it one more look the day before, so it's fresh when you sit down.

AI grading that never answers for you

Type your answer and AI checks whether you got the idea, even if you put it differently from the card. It explains only after you've tried. When you explain an idea in your own words, it tells you what's missing and leaves the writing to you. If it marks you wrong and you weren't, tap I was right.

Duels with a friend

Send a friend a link and you both answer the same 5 cards, picked from ones you've both studied. There's no clock and no scoreboard, and any card either of you forgets comes back for both of you.

On your phone or laptop

Sign in on both and your cards and progress stay in sync.

The iPhone app

It's in testing on TestFlight. It works offline and syncs when you're back online.

Study on the web

It works in any browser, including on Android phones. On a laptop, focus mode runs on the keyboard: Space shows the answer and 1 to 4 grade it.
